BASE KNOWLEDGE
What is ATLAS?
ATLAS Is a device designed to materialize physical objects using digital fabrication techniques. ATLAS is designed with quality in mind for the Power User, easy to setup and straightforward to use.
What is 3D printing?
3D printing is a process for producing three-dimensional, digitally designed objects. Printing is done by applying successive layers in a predetermined shape. 3D printing can be used both at home and in various industries such as architecture, fashion, design. The possibilities are endless
How to start 3D printing?
Run the software of your choice on your computer, it allows you to generate a G-code version of the object, which is used by our printer.
Can I print a few models on one platform and print them together?
Yes. You can multiple one object or put a few different objects for one print.
Client Operating System
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, Linux and OSX, but we cannot provide support nor setup/install for these Operating Systems, you will have to configure them manually
What is a filament?
It’s different consumable for 3D printers (in technology ABS, PLA, PVA) like traditional ink for 2D printers. It comes in the form of one or multiple long line, a diameter of 3 mm or 1.75 mm
Can I use different brands of filament?
Sure! Unlike inkjet printers, printing materials for 3D printers need to be prepared strictly for a particular model of the machine. Materials from all manufacturers have different physical and chemical properties, even at similar terminology. This introduces a lot of variables in the results, well known brand gives you better result and consistency across you works. We can supports you on settings only if using Formfutura filaments
Extruders
ATLAS has different tool heads available: multi-material head plastic extruder for 1,75mm and single material plastic extruder for 1,75mm. As ATLAS is an open platform its compatible with virtually all type of hot-ends! We will release a laser cutting and engraving head soon!
How fast is it?
That depends, of course, on size. The choice of resolution, support material, and raft influence speed greatly
Is post processing required on the printer parts?
In most situations you just peel away the support structures from the model. 3D printed parts can be sanded, milled, drilled, tapped and painted.
If i dont know how to design, can I get files to print?
Yes, there is a large community of designers sharing thousands of STL files online.
How much does it cost?
You can find up to the minute pricing on our online store.
How big is the build area on the Atlas 4030 3D Printer?
With Atlas, you’ll be able to print large parts over 400 mm in diameter and up to 300mm high. That’s why we name it Atlas 4030
What level of expertise do I need to run the Atlas 3D printer?
Our assembled and calibrated 3D printer is one of the easiest printers to use. It’s great for those just getting started as well as those who are ready for a printer that can perform more advanced functions. The Atlas 3D printer is so easy to use that even if you’re new to 3D printing, you’ll be printing your first idea within minutes.
With each printer, you’ll receive a manual with simple instructions that will help you hit the ground running, instead of spending your time learning how it all works.

What is Auto Calibration?
To achieve the greatest accuracy, the bed of the 3D printer should be level. To make this as easy as possible we factory calibrate the bed. This will make sure your prints have a successful first layer. This is necessary only the first time but you can buy our Z-probe and re-calibrate the machine by your own.
Who should buy the Atlas 3D Printer?
3D printers are for a variety of people and industries. Here are a few that would benefit from Altlas:
Engineers
Schools/Universities
Hobbyists
Architects
Inventors
Entrepreneurs

ADVANCED
What firmware do you use?
We use smoothieware official firmware. You can find sources here
What file types are needed for printing?
Host Softwares can read .stl and .obj files. Atlas prints objects from .gcode files.
How hot does the 3D printer get?
The extruder nozzle (printhead) heats up to 350 degrees Celsius. The platform is heated as well, but not as hot, 120 degrees Celsius , to aid in depositing and removing the base layers.

What is your policy regarding future developments and upgrades?
Our printer is new, the Delta technology has shown its efficiency on robots for over 20 years, but has been used for less than one year on 3D printers.
Like any new product, improvements and corrections will be implemented as the product evolves.
Our first customers are as important as future ones and we do not want them to be disadvantaged because they showed their faith in us from the beginning.
When a new development is qualified, we always check that the new design is compatible with printers already sold.
We will offer upgrades at a special price for existing customers (up to 50% of the normal price).
